Restaurant Prices in Tbilisi: What Food and Drink Cost in 2026

The most useful number on a Google listing is its price-per-person band, built from what diners report spending. Here it is for the 165 places on our 44 lists that show one in lari.

Read the band as the spend on a normal meal. Tbilisi's cheap eats, cafes and bakeries mostly sit at 10 to 20 GEL, so lunch rarely needs more than a 20 GEL note.

Sit-down restaurants cluster at 20 to 40 GEL and Georgian ones run wider, at 20 to 60. In fine dining, 2 of the 4 rooms with a band in lari sit at 100 GEL and up.

Khinkali are priced by the piece, which makes them the easiest dish in town to budget. One reviewer at Beer Time, a craft beer bar, paid 2.3 GEL a khinkali in April 2026, so how many khinkali you order is most of the bill.

Khachapuri is cheapest where it's baked: one reviewer put a khachapuri at 3 GEL at Caravanserai Bakery in January 2026, and Tone sold a large shoti loaf for 1.3 GEL in 2025. Those are take-away prices at Tbilisi's bakeries; the Adjarian khachapuri, egg yolk and all, is a restaurant dish.

For a sit-down meal, 2 bills from Georgian restaurants in 2026 give you the range. At Hide, one reviewer paid 15 GEL for a Caesar salad with chicken and 23 for beef in cream and tarragon, and at Lavera a family of 7, children included, paid 400 GEL for lunch with wine, about 57 GEL a head.

Cafe Nice, a family-owned Georgian cafe, shows how low a sit-down bill can go. One August reviewer calls it the best value they found, with house wine at 5 GEL, and another calls the khinkali mind-blowing.

Street food is where 15 GEL still buys lunch, and a shawarma is the city's default. Here's what reviewers paid for it, and the alternatives, this year.

Nawras Aziz is the one to know. One reviewer says the 10 GEL small is big enough for 1 person, and another paid 35 GEL for 3 shawarmas and 2 drinks.

Fire Wok is the cheap hot meal that isn't bread or a wrap, cooked in about 10 minutes at a counter with no seats. It delivers too: one reviewer's first order came through Wolt.

Beer prices say more about the room than the label, whether it's a Georgian beer or an import. A beer cost 3 GEL at Nikala's Yard, a Georgian restaurant, and a lager 5 GEL at Warszawa, a small bar, both in June 2026.

For wine, a wine bar lets you taste widely for not much. One July reviewer paid 30 GEL for 4 wines at Patara Dzagli, each poured with an explanation, and at 8000 Vintages staff found another reviewer a bottle of mtsvane for under 50 GEL, from shelves running 20 to 120.

Price the bottle before you order by the glass. One reviewer at a wine shop paid 20 GEL for a glass of a wine that sells for 30 to 40 GEL a bottle, so 2 glasses can cost the whole bottle.

Cocktails are where Tbilisi stops being cheap. One September reviewer put each drink at The Gin Corner at roughly 27 GEL, reviewers of 41° Art of Drinks name 29 GEL and a 25 to 35 range, and a club cocktail at Mtkvarze was 22.

Among the cafes on our list, Walkers Espresso Bar shows what a fair price looks like. One reviewer paid 9 GEL for a large cappuccino in August 2026, and another paid 8 for a lemonade and rated its prices below most coffee shops in the city.

Something sweet costs about the same again. At the dessert shops on our list, chocolate cake with Baileys was 12 GEL a slice at Dessert Ballet, and 2 bubble waffles with ice cream 15 GEL at Sweet Lab.

The fine-dining rooms are where the bill changes category. Barbarestan, inspired by Barbare Jorjadze's 19th-century cookbook, and OtsY both carry Google's band of 100 GEL and up a head.

Steak and seafood get there by the group or by the kilo. At My Chef, one of the steakhouses on our list, one reviewer's bill was 240 GEL for 3 people, a sushi set at Sushiman was 112 GEL before drinks, and crayfish at Los Crayfish Hermanos cost 120 to 150 GEL a kilo in 2025.

Music after dinner costs extra. 1984 Jazz Club priced its September 2026 shows at 30 to 50 GEL online, 10 more at the door and 20 to 30 standing, and Mtkvarze charges 2 GEL for the cloakroom, which one clubber calls usual for Tbilisi's clubs.

Since 12 February 2024, Georgia's Competition and Consumer Agency expects a restaurant menu to show the total price, with VAT and any service charge already in it. The number next to the dish should be the number you pay.

Not every bill has caught up. Reviews of 12 places on our own lists, all from 2025 and 2026, describe 10 to 25% added at the end as service or tax, and smaller extras turn up too: 3 GEL for a saucer of sauce, 2 GEL for a lemon on the side.

Tables are the other surprise: one rooftop asked a reviewer for a 150 or 200 GEL deposit a person, to spend on drinks, to sit at a table, so ask first. A stranger walking you into a bar with no prices on the menu is a different problem, the Tbilisi bar scam.

Read the bill before you tip. Tipping in Georgia runs at 10 to 15% by the national tourism site's reckoning, and there's no reason to pay it twice.

Not by European standards, but prices aren't standing still. Restaurant and hotel prices rose 6.8% in the year to August 2026, ahead of overall inflation at 5.6%, according to Geostat. Daner Pizza's owner, for one, put the pies up from 5 to 6 GEL in September, the first rise in almost 3 years, blaming higher wages.

The bigger swing is where you sit. One reviewer paid 22 GEL for a glass of wine at a restaurant where everyone was a tourist, and a 0.33 L beer on a rooftop cost 20 GEL against 3 at Nikala's Yard.

Order the Georgian way, a few dishes for the middle of the table rather than a main each, as Tbilisi restaurant etiquette expects. Add a dish when the plates run low.

That's about 17 US dollars for the tight day and 51 for the comfortable one at the National Bank of Georgia's rate for 29 September 2026, about 2.6 lari to the dollar. Add 100 GEL and up for a fine-dining dinner.
